Landowners get certificate
THE Moswarang landowners in Markham, Morobe, recently received their legal rights certificate from the Ombudsman Commission (OC) in Lae. The Moswarang ILG executives, upon receiving the certificate and gazette notice, thanked the commission for the assistance. They asked the OC to conduct awareness on customary land registration and acquisition processes for those unregistered land groups who may need similar assistance.

Miner continues partnership
AUSTRALIAN miner, Newcrest, says it is committed to be a long-term partner with the country, especially in the education and health sectors. Finance officer Tenaga Polum said: “As well as our programme to keep workplace safe and healthy, we fund the Lihir Medical Centre which provides services to thousands. We are also conducting ground breaking research aiming to eventually eradicate malaria from Lihir.”

Teaming up to boost efforts
PALADIN Solutions and Peren Investments are teaming up to bolster recycling efforts on Manus Island, Paladin community affairs manager John Eiby says. Eiby said the team led by Papuan Olympic boxer Hubert Meta were conducting beach clean-ups every Sunday as well as spreading awareness on the harm of single-use plastics in Manus environment.
