Bring back TFF fund

Letters

HEALTH and education are basic fundamental rights.
They are an indirect means of national wealth sharing.
On an average household, a couple has between 5-8 children.
All the children go to public schools which directly benefit from the free education policy such.
In what ways would the citizen’s benefit from the oil and gas, gold, copper, forest and fisheries?
The Tuition Fee Free policy is not a political tool as claimed by some people.
Removing and reducing free education is like cutting off 80 per cent of the rural population from accessing the public school system.
With public roads infrastructure developments, education and health should go hand in hand for these are the basic function of the state and the government.
We are entering a situation to widen the gap between the rich and the poor.
Separating the urban working class against the rural and underprivileged population.
The government need to bring back the TFF policy so that a fair representation of people will benefit.
The government should feel responsible and make the TFF fund available
This is the duty of responsible governments around the world.

  • Road infrastructure, health and education are the fundamental growth of any nation. Road gives access to people for trade and work, education provides knowledge to improve in life and health takes care of the people’s wellness to progress in life. Other infrastructure developments are also very vital when a nation’s capital is good.

  • Tuition Fee Free education must be brought back again ASAP. We cannot continue to listen to those hypocrites’ and so called educated people and savvy politicians who kept mentioning that this has caused parents to become lazy.
How can they when they cannot blame those corrupted public servants and politicians who’ve brought this country to its knees because of their greed and selfish desires over the years. This country would have had enough funds to support such critical initiatives only if those funds had not be misused.
Free education is the only way this country can become educated, creative and hence prosper.
PMJM, your excuse for the removal of TFF is lame and shallow! I would suggest you remove underperforming public servants, carry out departmental restructures to remove duplicated departments and aligning them to be lean and effective, carryout audit of the current ghost employees not living in respective areas physically so they can be removed to save money to pay for this critical service.
tighten up on the project fees monitoring and evaluation of school projects and punish contractors, board of governors, head teachers and principles for failed projects hence would we see tangible results.

  • Too many useless certificates and degrees from free education. Appears kids are just educated enough to get on to face book.

  • The Governments decision is healthy and okey which allows parents to partly bring back laziness in the community. We should be responsible by paying 50% of tuition fee however, if one could not really afford can see respective local MPs for full assistance.
I think this current Government makes the right choice of decision.

  • When was TFF cut off???

I thought, the policy is self-explanatory. It simply shifted the focus from the one section where it can be affordable by parents and TOTALLY (100%) supports the parents during the tertiary studies where it is ALWAYS difficult even for employed parents…There is a lot of “common sense” or wisdom in that policy change.
