Broncos keep game plan simple

PAPUA New Guinea international David Mead says coach Kevin Walters is keeping the game plan simple as the Broncos aim to rebound from their last-place finish in the 2020 National Rugby League season.
“Kev has kept everything pretty simple — he’s brought back a lot of the former players to have a chat to us, to make sure the players understand the meaning of playing for the Broncos,” said Mead, who has played 159 National Rugby League (NRL) games — including a season at the Broncos in 2017.
“It’s a great quality about Kevie – he makes sure we all understand that when you put on that jersey you need to wear it with pride.”
Mead, 32, who has captained the PNG Kumuls, will be hoping for a big restart to his NRL career after spending the last three years playing Super League for the Catalans Dragons, scoring 29 tries in 58 games.

“It’s been like that the whole pre-season – Kev has told us the whole way through that we are all competing for spots in the team,” he said. – broncos
