Brothers accused of killing a man using an iron rod arrested

POLICE in Madang have arrested two brothers for allegedly killing a man from Wosera in East Sepik at Wosera Camp in Madang on April 6.
Madang police commander acting Supt Mazuc Rubiang said the brothers, identified as Emmanuel and Lany Langu both from Wosera’s Kwan Soma village, had gone the deceased’s house, Greg Wangi, and had an argument with him.
Rubiang said during the argument, Wangi was struck with an iron rod on the head resulting in a fractured skull.
He said Wangi died on the spot.
Police have called on relatives and witnesses to assist them with any information related to incident.
Meanwhile, Rubiang said killings reported in the province was alarming with more than five deaths a month.
He urged communities to work with police and their leaders and parents to ensure peaceful solutions were found to disagreements and to ensure activities that could lead to violence or crime were limited or discouraged.
