PORT Moresby Rugby League competition leaders Brothers thumped Magani 32-10 in their Round 24 clash at Murray Barracks Oval on Sunday.

Brothers, with their full strength team, were in control from the opening whistle and all but confirmed their minor premiership claim with the 22-point win.

Brothers are likely to finish on top of the standings after it was revealed that some top eight clubs were fielding unregistered players while others had allowed their players to take part in the Central Premier League without approval from the league.

Docking of teams’ points are among sanctions being considered.

Brothers’ inclusion of Port Moresby Vipers halfback Quentin Ragi, captain Rex Maima, Ben Wemin, Tilix Kawage, John Supa and Mendi Muruks play-maker Stanley Olo, ensured they were in cruise control for most of the clash.

Brothers led 16-0 at half time with tries to Hobert Paul, Maima and Olo — Paul potting two goals.

The wallabies hit back in the second half with a brace of tries to get within reach of the brethren at 10-16 after Kenson Blacky and Junior Amos went over while Thomas Tawi managed to convert one.

But the fight back faded as Brothers piled on another three tries through Ragi (two) and Mondo Laki and Olo slotted two goals.

Results: Brothers 32 Magani 10, Dobo Warriors 14 West 4, Kone Storm 12 Paga Panthers 10, Royals 26 Tarangau 8, Butterflies 20 Defence 14, Souths 22 Kone Tigers 12.
