BROTHERS will be counting on experience when they face Tarangau their Port Moresby Rugby League sudden-death clash at the National Football Stadium on Sunday.
Brothers coach Tony Waliya said he would be counting on Quinten Ragi, Ben Wemin, Benji Kot and Solomon Bire to lay the foundation against Tarangau as they look to make the A-Grade grand final.
Tarangau coach Humphrey Begada said he would confirm his starting side today.
“We have a lot of respect for the opposition and we’ll be out to get some early momentum,” he said.
The inclusions of their Digicel Cup players has boosted the morale of the teams.
Meanwhile, coach Steven Gunua says his Royals outfit need to polish up their defence if they are to beat Hohola Flies in the other sudden-death match.
“We have players who can strike in attack and threaten the opposition in their red zone,” he said.
“I’ll be counting on the experience of Nelson Wak, Gillespie David, Robert Mase, Cliffy Dengie, John Simon and Karis Yoba Peter to get the side home.”
Hohola Flies coach Michael Eka said: “This will be real test for us against a quality Royals side. We’ll try to frustrate them from the start and get a positive result. I’m yet to finalise my side for the match.”
In the women’s preliminary finals, Paga Panthers face Sisters and Royals meet Magani.
In the Under-20s, Flies take on Paga and Kone Tigers do battle with Tarangau.
The winners of the preliminary finals advance to the grand final next Sunday.
