Bank South Pacific is the latest to join as a sponsor of the first Speakers’ Investment Summit on Monday and Tuesday with a donation of K50,000.
A cheque for the amount was presented to Deputy Speaker and Nipa-Kutubu MP Jeffrey Komal in Parliament yesterday.
Komal said the summit at Parliament House was a new initiative supported by the corporate organisations. “It’s a huge vote of confidence. Businesses must always partner with the Government in order to deliver much-needed development to our people,” Komal said.
“I’m pleased to see that BSP continues to give that community-based support.
“I also take this opportunity on behalf of Speaker of Parliament Job Pomat and the Parliament to acknowledge Investment Promotion Authority and the Business Council of PNG for their support to hold this summit.”
Deputy general manger customer experience and retail support Kili Tambua said it was the first speaker’s investment summit organised by the Business Council of PNG in partnership with the 19th Speaker’s National Parliament and PNG Investment Promotion Authority.
“BSP, being a dominant and leading brand in Papua New Guinea and the Pacific, is delighted to be part of this modern event to co-host the programme,” he said. “Through this summit, we hope that the Business Council of PNG and its partners pursue the goal of building the bridge between the people of PNG and the resource and ensuring the theme of growing PNG realise those opportunities.”
