BANK South Pacific (BSP) handed over a newly renovated and extended classroom to the Alotau Inclusive Education Resource Centre in Milne Bay last week.
The bank said, in a statement that the renovated classroom was its Alotau branch’s community project for this year and was delivered at the cost of K25,000, plus a donation of resource and reading books worth K1,500.
The building now provides safe and spacious learning environment for the centre’s students, especially those with disabilities.
Director of Inclusive Education Resource Centre, Sr Anecita Kabunbun said: “The extended building brings hope to many of the parents who entrust the care of their children with us.
“Many of our students have disabilities and special needs and this building provides a safe place for our special children to learn.
“The teachers will now also have privacy with their students as previous classes were attended in an open building where there was lot of noise and disturbances,” she said.
