THE Bank South Pacific (BSP) has increased awareness and promotion of public health safety measures in all its branches, group chief executive officer Robin Fleming says.
“BSP has been adhering to the key measures under the ‘niupla pasin’ for some time now, but over the past month, there had been increased awareness and positive promotion of the measures across all branches and business units to reduce the levels of the Covid-19 community transmission,” he said.
“We are also encouraging all staff to practise these measures outside of the workplace for their own protection and benefit.”
The bank wants all customers to wear masks while in its premises.
Fleming was responding to a statement from the PNG Business Council and PNG Chamber of Commerce and Industry this week urging their members to follow the health safety measures.
A joint statement said: “As the voice of business, the private sector and development partners, we remind all our members to ensure that all measures are taken to protect everyone from the Covid-19.
“This is a shared responsibility, which we all must play our part in addressing.
“Given the recent spike in community transmission, it is important that we take the lead in promoting and practicing the Covid-19 prevention matters.”
