THE Bank South Pacific (BSP) has opened a branch in Namatanai, New Ireland, to make banking services easier for the people.
BSP Financial Group chief executive officer Robin Fleming said the bank “is committed to the people in New Ireland particularly Namatanai”.
“The branch will be a relief to the people in the district as well as customers who (used to) travel to Kavieng, Lihir and Kokopo to conduct simple banking,” Fleming said.
“Our customers will be able to save time and money as the service is now at your doorstep.
“The small to medium enterprises, churches, schools, family groups and personal banking customers will benefit from the bigger facility.”
Namatanai is in the southern part of the province and it bigger than Kavieng.
It includes the Tabar and Lihir groups of islands, plus Tanga and Feni islands.
Fleming said BSP had six banking facilities in New Ireland.
“We have branches in Kavieng and Lihir and sub-branches in Simberi, Konos, Lukurumau and Namatanai hybrid branch which service over 30,000 BSP account holders,” he said.
“We (also) have 10 ATMs and over 240 electronic funds transfer at point of sale (Eftpos) in the province.”
BSP has also “given back to the people through community projects” valued at more than K550,000 since 2009.
