THE Bank of South Pacific has reduced fees on its Visa classic debit card, allowing affordable access for the online shopper and overseas traveler.
Effective Monday, existing and intending holders of BSP Visa classic debit cards would have benefited from the reduced card fees.
According to BSP, this change will see the K100 application fee waived for all new Visa classic debit card applications.
The annual K100 fee charged for maintenance of the service will also be cancelled, leaving customers with zero application and maintenance fees.
Customers requiring a Visa card replacement due to card loss, theft, damage or PIN reissue will be charged  K20 instead of K100.
“With the enhancement of BSP’s Visa debit cards, and the introduction of chip enabled cards, BSP would like to ensure that all customers benefit from this product and the added security features,” a statement said.
“The BSP Visa debit card enables a customer to have access to their funds while overseas and the convenience of buying products and services online.
“BSP Visa card is complimented by security features such as Visa alerts and 3D secure to allow customers to track and view their transactions with the Visa debit card.  Visa alerts, when activated, can send SMS or email alerts when there is a transaction done from your Visa debit card. This alert ensures that all customers are protected from fraud and the unauthorised use of their account and can be activated through BSP personal internet banking.”
