THE Bank South Pacific is continuing to serve the people of West Sepik through its branch in Aitape.
The Aitape branch is one of the bank’s 40 branches and 38 sub-branches around the country where BSP is the only bank operating there.
BSP Financial Group Ltd general manager (retail) Daniel Faunt said the Aitape branch served more than 20,000 people in Aitape, Lumi and Nuku.
The two BSP cash agents were located at Aware Trading Ltd at Poro Block on the West Coast and K12 Revive Trading at Yangkok in Nuku.
The bank has 40 active Eftpos terminals in Aitape, Lumi and Nuku.
Aware Trading Store owner Wilson Miroi said, as a BSP cash agent, he was providing farmers an access point to sell their wet cocoa beans and operate their bank accounts.
“It’s easy for me to deposit payments to their accounts instead of me looking for cash to pay them,” he said.
The bank, since 2009, has delivered 12 community projects valued at K275, 000 in Aitape.
“We believe in creating and strengthening relationships with communities we operate in,” Faunt said.
“We delivered projects around the themes of access to clean water, empowering women and children, solar lights for high schools, education.”
