A SENIOR management team from the Bank South Pacific visited the bank’s branches and sub-branches in East Sepik and West Sepik last week to assess their operations.
Group chief executive officer Robin Fleming was accompanied by retail general manager Daniel Faunt and retail deputy general manager Peter Komon to visit the Wewak branch and the Yangoru and Maprik sub-branches in East Sepik as well as the Aitape sub-branch in West Sepik.
They met staff at the Maprik sub-branch and district administrator Joshua Himina to discuss expanding the branch to cater for businesses and customers in the area.
The management also planned to increase the number of staff at Maprik.
Fleming thanked the Aitape branch staff for providing banking services to the people.
The bank plans to expand its presence in Aitape.
“With the Covid-19 still affecting our people, BSP as a bank should continue to provide essential services to our people,” he said.
“It is paramount we continue to promote social distancing with our customers.
“Digital banking is the way to go.
“Customers will not have to visit the branches for transactions if they have these platforms readily available at their use.
“This will be evident by reductions in our branch queues or visits when more people use our digital banking services.”
