A BANK has advised customers, complaining about joining long queues to access services, to use its electronic banking channels and agent networks instead.

Bank South Pacific was responding to concerns raised by customers who had to wait in queues at its Top Town branch in Lae to be served.

The bank said it had other convenient and safe channels to do transactions such as mobile banking, mobile application and internet banking which were “convenient, cheap and safer”.

“Most of the lines are usually in the morning, before the branch opens, and is usually reduced, during the day,” a bank spokesperson said.

The bank has been “ambitiously raising awareness” about electronic banking channels in Lae.

“We continue to encourage customers to use our agent network, where basic banking transactions can be done, without the need to visit the branch. Agents can also accept third party deposits for school fee payments.”

The BSP agents in Lae include P & K Trading (Butibam), Muaru & Bethel Trading (7th Street), Vine Trading (Tent City), Qido Trading (Kamkumung Village), Klakhurl Trading (Malahang), Bubu 25 Trading (Busurum Compound, Malahang), Mt Cres Trading (Boundary Rd), Zoe’s Trading (East Taraka), Mube Trading (Bumayong), Banpo Trading (Limki Ward) and Siweldos Trading (Bumayong).

Customer Terry Hagai said it was frustrating to stand in the long queue to enter the bank.
