BANK South Pacific (BSP) in Southern Highlands’ Moro will remain committed to serving the interest of communities, BSP Financial Group Ltd retail general manager Daniel Faunt says.
“We are the only bank operating in Moro since May 2008 and we have been helping rolling out community projects worth some K275,000 since 2009,” he said.
“Our reach in Moro covers employees from the camp sites and customers in nearby villages, capturing more than 12,000 customers.
“Inu health centre, located at Inu station along Lake Kutubu, is one of those remote communities that BSP recently assisted.”
Moro branch manager Bau Kiso and his team installed solar lights at the Inu health centre, a project costing K30,000.
“They (staff at the health centre) had been assisting women in labour using torch and lamps to deliver,” Faunt said.
“The BSP donation has made a lot of difference after so many years of struggle.”
He said BSP’s EFTPoS devices installed in Moro have been very helpful with customers now having access to funds.
