Budget applauded

Letters

I COMMEND the Morobe Governor Ginson Saonu and his administration on the successful presentation of the 2020 Morobe provincial budget to Treasury Minister Ian Ling Stuckey last week.
The budget will ensure K2 million of Morobe’s Provincial Services Improvement Programme (PSIP) funds go to all Morobe MPs, K150,000 to each LLG presidents for impact projects and Morobe’s 565 LLG wards to receive K5,000 in funding assistance.
Saonu and National Planning and Monitoring Minister Sam Basil have done something all other governors and members of parliament have never done before.
They have uncovered the blanket of dead political reforms since the introduction of the three tier government systems – national, provincial, districts governments.
PSIP and District Service Improvement Plan funds should be distributed fairly and in a transparent manner.
I commend Basil for allocating K10,000 from his annual DSIP funds to the six LLGs in his Bulolo electorate. Both men have uncovered Pangu Pati’s original vision, dream and development plans for this country.

Samson C Napo,
Former Bulolo MP
