MOROBE’s Bugandi secondary school has seen academic improvement in the last three years with the new board of management.
Deputy principal academic, Monica Miapu, said that Bugandi secondary had been through a lot of challenges, but had been seeing progressive results.
In 2022, 210 Grade 10 students of the school were eligible to continue to grade 11, of which five were eligible to study at the Wawin School of Excellence while 67 grade 12 were offered placing at institutions in the country.
“This year, we have 310 grade 10 students eligible for grade 11, of which 24 students are coming from Morobe Technical School and that adds up the number,” Maipu said.
She said that the school was impressed with the behaviour of its students and shared that about 83 of its grade 12 students secured placement in various institutions.
“We are proud of the steps Bugandi is taking and will surely make its way to how it was in the past.
“A bonus for the school is that five of our students were again selected to National Schools of Excellence, credit goes to stakeholders who are part of Bugandi’s change,” Maipu said.
Bugandi secondary had about 400-odd Gr 12 and more than 500 Gr 10 students last year.
