Bulolo district invests in agriculture

Business

THE Bulolo district development authority has entered into a partnership with Vitis Industries to promote agricultural activities in Wau to help rejuvenate the local economy.
Administrator Tae Gwambelek said the investment is in coffee rehabilitation, a wet and dry coffee milling factory, wine factory, grapes, vanilla, honey, piggery, tobacco, pure water bottling and a five-star hotel.
He said the partnership complements the authority’s plan to plant five million coffee trees by 2022.
It also complements the vision of the Morobe provincial government to develop district growth centres.
The Bulolo authority’s agreement with Coffee Industry Corporation will create work to rehabilitate coffee orchards and plant new ones, Gwambelek said.
