AN enterprising young businessman has gone rural to provide the communities along the Madang Highway from Ramu Sugar to Usino.

Nickolas Kamuti, proprietor of Maximum Security and now Dumpu Wholesale Depot said he recognised the need to bring manufactured goods, building items and chemicals to the people and had invested more than K300,000 to set up the depot.

Kamuti expects the demand from surrounding communities for these items to increase in the next few years and wants to be ideally positioned to serve them.

“Affordability is top on my list of doing business with the rural dwellers,” he said.

“My strategy is to offer very competitive pricing on all items while relieving them from additional and often unnecessary expenses associated with transportation etcetera,” he said.

“The idea is to bring goods and services to their doorsteps at affordable prices while cutting back on expenses without compromising quality and timely service.”

Kamuti said his included a food and beverage wholesale department, liquor section, hardware and pesticide section and a number of small office spaces to be leased.

He also has plans to construct a timber treatment plant in the existing yard and a number of rental houses in an adjacent block.
