B’ville eye top-four spot

Bougainville will look to continue their push for a top-four spot when they face bottom club Star Mountain in round nine of the Kumul Petroleum National Soccer League in Port Moresby tomorrow (1pm kick-off).
The David Passam-coached side are five points off the top-four with 10 matches remaining in the regular season.
A loss by more than four goals will see Bougainville drop to sixth, provided Gulf Komara win their match against Kutubu.
A win will see them keep pace with the top-four sides. Bougainville will be hungry for chances on goal with striker Jonathan Allen in good form while skipper Abel Redenut and Basil Jofari will coordinate their attack from midfield.
Star Mountain, who have been on a downward path, will look to Tau Winnie and Pettyshen Elizah to play key roles in the Papua New Guinea Football Stadium fixture.
William Yamb and Anslem Namalok will be the key for Star Mountain’s defences against Bougainville forwards Allen and Greg Togubai.
The second match of the Port Moresby double-header will see Komara host newcomers Kutubu.
Komara will be looking to extend their winning run after they beat Morobe Wawens 4-0 in Lae last weekend.
Numa Kila and Rupa Emil, who will be at the forefront of Komara’s attack, will provide a strong challenge for Kutubu coach Mathew Witu and his men.
Kutubu are aiming for redemption after they suffered a 1-8 loss to defending champions Lae City in the Morobe capital last weekend
