CABINET has reappointed Grace So’on, Cabinet Secretary for a four-year term, says Public Service Minister Elias Kapavore.
Kapavore told The National that Cabinet met last week and appointed So’on.
He said she had been with the Department of Prime Minister and National Executive Council for 14 years, and holds a Master’s degree in public policy and management from Monash University.
So’on, from Manus, took over from former secretary Ilagi Veali who served for four years.
“She was selected from four applicants,” Kapavore said.
“One of her major achievements was the updated documentation of the National Executive Council handbook after some years.
“This appointment also supports the Government’s priority on gender, based on merit. It also strengthens our performance in meeting sustainable development goal number five on gender equity and women empowerment.”
