A YOUNG leader from Mt Hagen in Western Highlands has called on Sir Michael Somare and Peter O’Neill to step aside for the sake of the six million-plus people of Papua New Guinea.
Richard Raema from Hagen Central said the people were fed up with politicians fighting for leadership positions.
Raema said the constant power struggles was affecting the delivery goods and service to the silent populace in the rural areas.
“We elected the members to deliver basic goods and services to the people and not to spent millions of kina in changing governments,” he said.
He said the people had read in newspapers and heard on radio that there were too many appointed to ministerial positions and department heads and it
confused the rural people.
He said the current political situation created by parliament and the court decision showed that PNG
was no longer a democratic country and democracy had faded away.
