ANGORAM MP Saliyo Waipo has called on the government to look into the operations of the Central Bank of PNG.
Waipo, in his grievance debate comments in Parliament on Friday, said the bank needed to provide information on how much money was being floated around the country.
“The operations of the Central Bank need to be looked into because the commercial banks are scaring the people,” he said.
“I understand that the people in remote areas are struggling so the money is not being deposited to show the record of how much money is being floated around the country.
“However ,when you go to the border of Vanimo and Indonesia, you will see huge amounts of money in kina being exchanged.”
Waipo claimed there were boxes of money going on flights to Vanimo and it was kept there for trade on the border.
“We have to know from commercial banks about the cash that’s floating around the country,” he said.

  • Full support for ALL Govt entities to be looked into and Govt Departments the worst culprits. Every office to be cleaned out good and proper and all departments head/CEO/Managers to be laid off for investigation to take place. They must not work during this time as they are bound to destroy any documents. I am sure there is 1,000 or more mismanagement and corruptions that has to be exposed and dealt with.

Those in support to “Take PNG Back” must come out with reports and be part of the PNG Clean-a-thon!
