Cancer plan needed

Letters

A COMPREHENSIVE cancer plan is needed for the country.
A comprehensive “end-treatment-plan” is needed immediately to treat the cancer load that is in the truckloads.
But then, it will still be a burden when we have not addressed the root causes of it.
The truckloads will keep building up and the treatment part of it will consume resources making the set ups redundant or unable to cope.
The long term in dealing with cancer lies in public health.
Awareness on cancer, prevention of cancer, vaccination and avoidable risk factors must be addressed as a public health tool that will enable in the reduction of the cancer incidences.
Otherwise, cancer will still win the game despite building sophisticated cancer treatment facilities around the country.
Cancer is now prevalent.
For now, Angau, PMGH and the Kundiawa Hospital Cancer Treatment facilities must be supported and funded by the government.
