INTENDING candidates contesting in the regional and open seat for Western are required to collect their forms at their respective districts from their returning officers before nominations open, an official says.
Provincial election manager Paul Max said the forms included the electoral commission official deposit form, form 23 candidate nomination form and form 30 political party information – for candidates endorsed by a political party.
Max said there would be no cash nomination accepted as all nomination fees had to be paid to the Papua New Guinea Electoral Commission’s trust account.
He said all the open intending candidates were to nominate at the district headquarters while nominations for the South Fly electorate would be at the Aideganasi Foundation, Delta Fly electorate at the Kogodela local level government (LLG) chamber, Middle Fly electorate in Kiunga and the North Fly electorate and the regional seat would be at the Kiunga urban LLG chamber.
He said all the regional candidates were to nominate in Kiunga as the provincial returning officer would be there to accept nominations.
Max also said that there would be elections conducted for the new Delta Fly electorate in the general election.
“The electoral boundary for the new electorate is the local level government boundary,” he said.
“The Middle Fly electoral boundary covers all the Nomad LLG wards and all the Lake Murray LLG wards respectively.
“For the Delta Fly electoral boundary covers Balimo Urban, Aramia Gogodala, Fly-Gogodala and Bamu LLG.”
Max said intending candidates for the Middle Fly electorate are to nominate in Kiunga while intending candidates for Delta Fly open are to nominate at Balimo station.
