Capital to host Besta leg

PREPARATION for the biggest soccer tournament in Port Moresby is underway.
The Port Moresby Soccer Association will be staging the Southern-leg of the Besta FA Cup from July 20-23 at Bisini Soccer Ground.
According to local organising committee chairman Leslie Babaga, Bisini is set to host the four-day tournament next month.
Teams expected to take part in the event include Port Moresby School Soccer Association, Higaturu Soccer Association, Western Soccer Association and host Port Moresby Soccer Association.
Babaga said the expression of interest is open to all member associations and associate members.
Interested centres should contact him on 73313002 or email: [email protected]. Madang will host the Momase leg from July 2-7 while Kimbe Soccer Association will host the New Guinea Island leg from July 25-29 and Chimbu will host the Highlands leg from July 9–15.
PNGFA competition manager Simon Koima said all interested teams should meet the requirement of nomination fee of K500 per team including player registration fee of K3. “All fees must be deposited into PNGFA operations account number 7002171143, BSP Waigani drive branch,” Koima said.
He added that teams that fail to comply with the requirements such as affiliation fees, nomination fees and proof of deposits of monies will not be eligible to participate in the tournaments.
