INTERESTING clashes are on the cards this weekend in the Port Moresby AFL Round 7 BSP premiership.

In tomorrow’s double-header at the Murray Barracks Oval, a winless Pepe Kila-coached Kenmore Central Bombers take on Hitron Bomana Cats in the midday clash.

The Cats are on the prowl to make it back-to-back wins after their impressive 26-point victory over Graffiti Koboni last Sunday.

In the mid-afternoon clash City Pharmacy Gerehu Magpies are highly fancied to record their second win of the season against home team SP Brewery Defence Hawks.

The Hawks are also without a win after six rounds and they will have a daunting task of containing the Magpies marauding quartet of Bruce Sovara, Ezra Gutono, Kawai Akaru and Ishmael Ekari.

In Sunday’s opening clash at Amini Park, Moni Plus Taurama Suns lock horns with Digicel Gordon Kokofas.

Both teams had good wins last weekend and are running equal third on 16 points with the Cats.

It is anybody’s guess in this clash but the glaring Suns appear to be playing a more coordinated game and with a team of talented youngsters running the midfield, they should have the Kokofas on the rack.

In the mid-afternoon clash, the growling Moore Printing University Tigers should edge out Graffiti Koboni unless the battered Demon’s coach Douglas Lai has an ace up his sleeve.

The main Sunday afternoon clash sees improving Kwila Gulf Giants test the might of competition leaders Lamana Dockers.

The Giants showed some good signs against the Kokofas in the final quarter to kick five goals.

The Kerema boys are certainly fired up with that performance and with Peter Milaura, Clensy Paul and young Obert Muri looking dangerous around the packs, the Dockers should encounter some anxious moments.
