Censors set drug and sex toys on fire

PORNOGRAPHIC material and sex enhancement products (SEP)were among 1300 illicit items destroyed in Port Moresby last Friday.
The Office of Censorship, in partnership with the National Drug and Vice Squad (NDVS) and members of the Boroko Magisterial Services burnt the materials and more than 9.5kg of marijuana.
Illicit materials in pornographic magazines, multiple DVDs and SEPs were confiscated by the enforcement and compliance division of the Office of Censorship during their daily operation.
The marijuana destroyed were confiscated by the National Drug and Vice Squad and some were taken from the exhibits of the Boroko Magisterial Services.
Acting manager enforcement and compliance Poveta Posa acknowledged the assistance of police officers and the team from Censorship.
Posa said she was satisfied with the continuous support from police and PNG Customs and hoped to continue this collaboration with other partners.
Sergeant Thomas Moiyang from NDVS and senior magistrate for the Boroko District Court Rosemary Koimo, were part of the programme to witness the destruction of materials.
