CENTRAL Dabaris technical director Chris Enara has warned members of the training squad that the franchise is serious about delivering results in their debut season in Digicel Cup
Enara said this after the players — selected from Port Moresby South, Hiri–West, Hiri–East, Koiari and Rigo — underwent tests at Bava Park yesterday.
“The tests were done by head trainer Arua Ben Moide who had informed most of the players to cut down or gain weights,” Enara said.
Enara said they were serious about developing quality players to represent the franchise and the province.
“We can’t mess around,” Enara told the players.
“We are serious about delivering the best from the 60 players to confront the Port Moresby and Koiari rugby league select sides in January.
“We will release you players with training programmes for the festive period to maintain your fitness level.”
Enara said the players resume full training on Jan 5 and will undergo tests to determine whether the programmes were followed.
He said the onus was on the players to be committed to the programmes.
“This will allow you players to get to the same level of fitness with the PRL and Koiari players,” Enara said.
Board director Hubert Warupi said the process was not easy and emphasised on discipline and commitment from the players.
“We must change our attitudes and be serious about our preparations. We must have pride in the Central franchise,” he said.
“We want you players to deliver the best and prove it on the field in January.”
