NATIONAL Soccer League (NSL) rookies Central Dabaris have noted a solid preparation with the football club finalising its squad and meeting affiliation requirements for the 2021 season.
Dabaris general manager Kamo Kini told The National yesterday that the club had already confirmed its affiliation while hosting several trial matches.
“We’ve met all the registration and affiliation requirements and as of last week, we’ve got a squad of 30 players,” he said.
“We were fortunate enough to have a few trial matches leading up to the season and the last one we had was with Star Mountain on Saturday.
“That was a good opportunity for us to finalise the team and we’re happy so far with our preparation.
“The club’s founding coach, Kila Babaka, is back with the team following his appointment and we’re excited to see how the team shapes this season.”
Kini said their players were seasoned NSL campaigners with a few development players.
“For a start, we’ve got the majority of our players coming from experience in the previous NSL seasons from other clubs like Gulf Komara.
“We only have one player from abroad who has joined us for this season and that’s Sonny Laka.
“Sonny is a forward and he has experience playing in the Philippines, so we’re happy to have him this season.
“We have a couple of our development players who will be featuring in the team later this year and we’re hoping to reach that balance of youth and experience as the season progresses.”
