THE Government will provide Central with K10 million to put up border posts, says Prime Minister James Marape.
During the launching of the Central provincial plan yesterday in Port Moresby, Marape commended Governor Robert Agarobe and his team for a simple realistic plan to generate its own revenue.
“The support is to ensure your revenues meant to be taken from goods and services tax comes straight to you,” he said.
Marape directed Treasury secretary Dairi Vele to restore the revenue owed to the Central government.
He also announced Government’s commitment of K20 million to Central over the next five years.
“That’s on top of the K30m meant for Central in the trust account closed a couple of years ago – if that reimbursement could be made,” Marape said.
He urged the province to look at its headquarters which was supposed to be built 10 years ago.
“The Central headquarters concept was clearly on designated land that the Central hospital is part of,” Marape said.
The said the Government would build hospitals for Hela, Central, Southern Highlands and West New Britain.
