LAUNAGALANA villagers in the Rigo district, Central, use the wokabaut saw mill to produce their own timber.

The locals harvest the Kwila and Rosewood trees in their forest and mill them.

The villagers saw the timber according to their orders from the village people and other customers from Central, from the Aroma Coast and Port Moresby.

They sell the timber much cheaper than other established timber or hardware companies in Port Moresby.

PNG Rugby Football League’s Southern Confederation chairman Gwaibo Mairi and Port Moresby Suburban League chairman Billy Aki visited the mill and were impressed with the quality of timber milled by the locals.

Mairi made an order of K8000 for timber to help build a grand stage for the Port Moresby Suburban League next week.
