Centre clarifies school name
THE National Covid-19 Control Centre has admitted mixing up the names of two schools in Port Moresby when it announced the testing positive of a student and school closure this week.
Centre incident manager Dr Daoni Esorom apologised for saying it was Port Moresby Grammar School, when it should have been the Port Moresby International School.
“I sincerely apologise for wrongly naming Port Moresby Grammar school as having a student tested positive,” he said.
“I apologise also for my remarks causing stress and anxiety among students, teachers and parents.”
