WITH the aim to help people properly setup sustainable and profitable businesses, Emstret Space and partner Niunet, are hosting a ‘Startup challenge’.
According to the partners, the programme will encourage growth of a professional and scalable business mindset.
The concept is supported by the PNG-Australia Partnership, Steamships group, as well as the Emstret Holdings Ltd.
Emstret Space chief executive officer Vani Nades said starting and operating businesses in Papua New Guinea was challenging.
“Therefore, with the vision behind Emstret Space, we aim to create an inclusive and a growth-friendly environment for businesses to excel,” Nades said.
“We are very thankful for the support and look forward to joining force with more collaboration to create an enabling environment for growth of our entrepreneurs in PNG.”
Co-founder of Niunet David Valentine said: “Our time together during the TechLab Accelerator gave us a deeper understanding of the kinds of support other start-ups get in places such as Australia where start-up eco-systems are thriving.
“Having that exposure and insight grew a longing inside us to want to build the same thing here in Papua New Guinea.
“A collaboration between local partners is established to address common encounters and achieve improvements for all local entrepreneurs.”
The challenge will be conducted next month where participants will be trained to fine tune business ideas and concepts, as well as deliver a professional pitch.
The pitch will be delivered to a panel of corporate companies such as Steamships.
