Challenge PM openly

Letters

I DO not support Prime Minister James Marape or any party currently in Government but I would like to express my view on the latest political development.
I am bemused by the explanation given by the defectors Patrick Pruaitch, Sasindran Muthuvel, Sam Basil and others.
If these leaders represent the interest of their respective electorates, why didn’t they speak their minds and challenge the Prime Minister openly as what the East Sepik Governor Allan Bird and Northern Governor Garry Juffa does?
Most of these politicians are integral part of the team in the Government, thus if the prime minister do not adhere to their advice or dictate the terms on how major decisions are made, it is not wrong or an offence to speak out rather than throw in the towel prematurely.
The move taken by the faction smells bad considering the fact that it occurred right after the vote on Independent Commission Against Corruption Bill was passed.
Are they afraid of being exposed and referred to the relevant authorities for prosecution for their past misdeeds?

  • ‘Nogat SEM’ blo ol. Larim JM pinisim. Me tu, not supporting any sides, just common sense you can not change things in a short time. What changes Vanimo team will do before 2022? Few MPs are using people’s interests as their excuse. Which people? PNG people are fed up of using us as a shield for personal interests.

    • spot on BataFah
they all talk about fighting corruption and when a solution is finally available like the new Law,they run away?
I do not know who is more confused, the 8million people of PNG or our Good PMs?
I do not support any side but believe in good governance from whoever that is in office. 18 months is too short for any government to correct past mistakes and try to deliver new results. I think PJM needs his whole term in office and only than, can the people have their fair judgement on his performance. mi tok tasol…god bless PNG

  • if the current government or the next or the ordinary people really want to rid corruption
in PNG, than exposure/prosecution will be the only solution. the Law has been passed and we are now seeing the start of more reactions to come from the corrupt elite.

  • Leadership is not about POSITION or TITLE that you hold or have, it is all about ACTION. PMJP, under your leadership, actions speak volumes or louder than words in matters of national interest such as Independent Commission Against Corruption Bill that was passed recently and others….. May God Almighty Bless you and your team.
