Challenges for new MP of long-neglected Kabwum

I REFER to Bamiringke Junior’s letter (The National, July 11) about Kabwum being one of the least developed and isolated electorates in PNG.
I wonder where have all the millions of DSIP and other project funds for the electorate been diverted to over the past 10 years.
The incumbent MP should be held accountable for the mess he created and not delivering the services his voters expected.
I recently visited my area and was sad to see the overgrown grass on the airstrips in Kabwum, particularly Konge airstrip, and the poor state of the runway at the Kabwum government station.
I believe other outer-lying remote airstrips in the district would be in the same state, thus prompting third level airlines (North Coast Aviation and MAF) to cut their services to these areas down to once a week.
The onus is now on our new incoming MP to address these issues.
