Chamber sees next year as a vital one

PORT Moresby Chamber of Commerce and Industry says next year will be an important one for the chamber.
President Rio Fiocco said top of the list next year would be the June 21 Asia-Pacific Business Forum to be held at Apec Haus.
This is part of the ‘Invest Week PNG’ event programme.
“Prime Minister Peter O’Neill is scheduled to welcome the business leaders from the UN ESCAP sustainable business network,” Fiocco said.
“This year’s meeting was held in Hong Kong and over 800 business leaders attended.”
He said the Chamber would be closed today and opened on Jan 7.
Fiocco urged business houses in Port Moresby as well as PNG to save the dates of the ‘Invest Week PNG’.
“The week of June 17 to 21, 2019 will be an important one for PNG as Port Moresby will be hosting a number of important meetings,” he said.

  • June 17: POMCCI will be hosting a one-day summit with the theme ‘Port Moresby – Beyond Apec’;
  • June 18: Business Council of PNG will host its Annual Speaker’s Summit.
  • June 19 and June 20: Australia-PNG Business Council will hold its annual meeting.

These events are tentatively scheduled to be held at the International Convention Centre at Waigani.
