Change football head

Letters

IT is time to change the head of the football (soccer) governing body in the country.
By now, we should be enjoying and seeing the football matches played at our local associations as if we were watching the match between Liverpool and Manchester United.
I am here talking about the quality and pressure football not at the national or international scene.
As we all know this is only the product of the local associations and I do not mean here in our country but in the countries in the regions like Africa, Europe, South America, and Asia.
Here in our country, we are still a long way from playing quality and pressure type of football at our local associations and that is because we have got our football development priority wrong.
As a result, see what we did to our up and coming players.
We brought unforgettable shame on them in the eyes of the international community at the recent tournaments.
In fact, our young players had been defeated at home before they left our shore to take part in that tournament.
If you are the experienced and competent coach, you will understand what I mean. Our players are not used to playing quality and pressure football.
So physically, mentally and psychologically they were not ready for exposure to such tournament.
Our youngsters were sent unprepared only to be butchered by our Melenasian cousin. What a shame!
Who do you think should to be blamed?
This is not about football politics. Let’s be serious.
Our standard of football needs to be developed to produce the product that we should be proud of.
