MEMBERS of a not-for-profit organisation paid a surprise visit to mothers at the Port Moresby General Hospital maternity ward on Sunday and gave them gifts as a special Mother’s Day treat.
Members of Zumba for Charity led by businesswoman Cherry Lin distributed 150 packs of baby wares costing about K30,000 and 200 packed lunches for the mothers.
Lin said it was great to treat the mothers at the maternity ward with gifts for their babies and food for themselves.
“This is our first time to share with the mothers and it’s a good feeling to do this. Hopefully it (becomes) an annual programme,” she said.
The 33 mothers who delivered on Sunday were the first to receive the gift packs.
“It took us three days to pack these 150 gift packs and it was worth doing this as a mother,” she said.
