SICK children at the Mt Hagen Provincial Hospital received cartons of Christmas gifts from the late Paul Pora’s family.
Pora’s family living at Tega, outside Mt Hagen city, bought toys and donated K200 to the children’s ward last Monday.
The donation was received by acting director medical services, Dr Guapo Kiagi, and witnessed by hospital
staff.
It was the first time this year for children in the ward to receive gifts from Sadat Pora, Jacob Pora, Bessie Pora and Emil Possiri.
During the presentation, Sadat said on behalf of the family members that they wanted
to put smiles on the
faces of the sick children.
They wanted the sick children to know they had not been forgotten.
There were people out there who were just as concerned as their parents about their well-being.
He said they did not want the sick children to miss out on celebrations in the festive season.
Sadat said as family members of the late Pora, they were happy to donate something to brighten the sick children’s day.
Kiagi thanked the Pora family members for the donation.
The items donated would be distributed among the children and the money would be used for the children’s end of the year meal.
