Children get gifts from foundation

MORE than 50 children from a preschool in Port Moresby were given a stationary pack each by the Digicel Foundation for Christmas.
The 22 children of the Mutinneo pre-school at 9-Mile outside Port Moresby that ended the academic year on Saturday, were delighted to see Sant  Claus arrive with the gifts.
Chief executive officer of the Digicel Foundation Beatrice Mahuru told the children and parents that the foundation was focused on bringing quality foundation education to children starting school.
“There are no real Government support for pre-schools and so Digicel Foundation tries to help,” Mahuru said.
She said good training during early schooling was important to build a good foundation for primary and secondary education.
National Capital District college inspector Mara Wape was happy with the outcome of the school.
He thanked Digicel Foundation for its support for early learning in Mutinneo by providing two classrooms and other teaching aids.
