Chimbu man joins Aust property firm

A YOUNG Chimbu man has made it into top corporate structure of the competitive real estate and property market in Sydney, Australia.
Okuk Mori Rogerson’s appointment to the position of   manager sales and investments Pacific at the prestigious real estate firm First National North Sydney is the first for  a Papua New Guinean.
Rogerson graduated as outstanding student last year from the Sydney Institute Randwick Campus with a diploma of property services (agency management). 
After a brief stint with a residential agency in Sydney, Rogerson decided that the best contribution he could make to PNG was to be in the commercial property market, specifically to cater for the PNG investors.
These included governmental, institutional and private individuals who were benefiting from the new-found wealth generated by the resource boom.
In appointing Rogerson to the new position, the two directors of First National North Sydney were very excited and expressed their confidence in him.
Director Mark Smith said: “I am excited to have Okuk on the team. 
After 36 years of independence, PNG had certainly become a key player in the development of the Pacific region and is poised to set an example to other Pacific nations.
“With its strong political and economic base and clear vision for the 21st century it will no doubt look to Australia for investment opportunities.

Okuk said his main objective was to introduce new business to the firm. 
“I am selling investment properties to the entire Pacific region — from South Korea, Japan, China, South East Asia, PNG, India, East Timor Australia and New Zealand.”   
“I would like to raise the level of awareness with our PNG investors like, resource owners, private entities, individuals and the Government to invest in blue chip investment properties in Sydney.
