A FRIEND in need is a friend indeed says Chinese Ambassador to PNG, Zeng Fanhua, who presented a cash assistance of US$100,000 (about K377,000) for disaster relief.
Zeng said that China and PNG were true friends and good partners as he presented the money to Foreign Affairs Minister Justin Tkatchenko and Defence Minister Dr Billy Joseph, to help the Government in relief efforts for those affected by the recent floods, mudslides and earthquake.
He said that as good partners who supported each other in times of need, the Chinese government and its people followed with concern the recent disasters that had hit many parts of PNG over the last month, including flooding, mudslides caused by extreme weather and the earthquake in East Sepik.
