CHINA and Papua New Guinea will continue to maintain their partnership through the delivery of health services to the people, says Chinese Ambassador to Papua New Guinea Zeng Fanhua.
Zeng was speaking during the completion of the first phase of the new Enga Provincial Hospital on Monday in Wabag.
He said China, during the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, sent 11 health professionals to help prevent the spread of the pandemic.
Zeng said China would also provide health experts at the new Enga hospital on how to use the facilities.
“We will send a medical team and necessary support to this new hospital and make sure facilities are in operation,” he said.
He said there were plans to start direct flights between Papua New Guinea and China as well.
Zeng said China would help build the downstream process in PNG to boost the economy of the country.
“We will come to assist if you require our assistance and we still be around to provide what is needed,” he said.
“China is even proud to be part of this delegation to officially handover the key of this new facility to Prime Minister James Marape.”
