THE Chinese government will today sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Papua New Guinea on promoting investment cooperation in green development.
China’s foreign minister Wang Yi, who arrived in Port Moresby yesterday for a two-day visit to PNG, will jointly sign the MOU with the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Trade Soroi Eoe.
Wang, upon arrival at the Apec terminal, was met by Chinese Ambassador to PNG Zeng Fanhua, Foreign Affairs and International Trade secretary Elias Wohengu and chief of protocol James Noglai.
The scheduled programme for today includes bilateral meeting between Soroi and Wang at the Stanley hotel.
After the signing of the MOU, Wang will pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister James Marape from 11am to 11.30am.
Wang will then depart for Timor Leste before returning to China.
