Chinese restaurant opened in Tabubil

A CHINESE restaurant has been opened in the mining township of Tabubil in Western to provide locals “new tastes and choices”.
The restaurant hosted a dinner on Friday for senior Ok Tedi Mining Limited employees, contractors, business houses, public servants and local landowners.
Gazebo Club president Akolo Kotange said the purpose of setting up the Chinese restaurant in Tabubil “is to bring some new tastes and choices to the people of Tabubil town”.
“Although we are isolated in terms of road to other provinces, people in Tabubil town can still have access to food and entertainment enjoyed by people in other centers.
“We want to make sure we have facilities and services that can make people enjoy their stay here in Tabubil while working with OTML, contractors, business and Government.”
He thanked Niugini Pride Management for setting up the restaurant and for other infrastructure improvements to the Gazebo Club.
Gazebo is a social club in Tabubil of which most of the employees of Ok Tedi mine are members.
The restaurant will be opened from Monday to Sunday for lunch and dinner.
