Police in West New Britain have arrested and charged a Chinese businesswoman for allegedly abusing a local employee in Kimbe.
Zhen Yifang, 52, from Fujian province in China, was charged with one count of using abusive language under Section 7 (b) of the Summary Offences Act.
The incident happened on March 18 at the Walkabout Kakaruk Mart in Kimbe.
Zhen allegedly abused her national employee in her shop resulting in the aggrieved employee seeking police assistance.
According to police, Zhen will appear in the district Kimbe court as soon as her files are ready.
Meanwhile, police have confiscated her passport and work permit and she is out on K1000 police bail.
Abusing a national employee is a discrimination issue and Kimbe police have notified the Department of Foreign Affairs and Immigration to deal with the matter.
