MEMBERS of the Gutnius Lutheran Church gathered in Enga last Friday to witness the dedication of several projects initiated by the church-run hospital.

The Mambisenda Lutheran Hospital in Wapenamanda dedicated all the projects to God so that through God’s wisdom and strength, the management and staff could work towards accomplishing the aims.

The projects include the obstetric unit, outpatients ward, HIV/AIDS and TB ward, gum trees near the hospital and a mini-hydro.

Hospital staff, church members and their children were dedicated to God as the young ones start a new school year.

The dedication programme was carried out by head bishop David Piso and pastors.

Hospital administrator Pittman Pinamai said the projects were funded by the government and church.

He said former Madang Governor Sir Peter Barter gave the hospital K3 million when he was the health minister.

He said God would help them succeed in whatever they planned.

Hospital chief executive officer Sister Jenny Reto was proud that the hospital had accomplished some of its vision.

She said the staff would give their best service to the people.

“This is one of the major hospitals in the country and the projects have made a big difference.

“We must thank God for the helping us to fulfill our vision and I commend the staff for helping in the dedication programme,” Reto said.

She said the official opening would take place at a later date.
