THE Hengali Point Four church of Nazarene in Lae celebrated Easter with Bible study and a communion on Sunday.
The three-day lead-up Bible study was held in the evenings since last Wednesday.
Teachings delivered by evangelist Rev Peter Dama centred on the Passover and habit of praying during Lent and Easter to see God’s blessings.
Rev Dama is a former lecturer of Melanesian Nazarene Bible College in Jiwaka and took up pastoral duties early this year.
The communion signified Christ’s body and blood through his death and glorious resurrection.
“Develop a habit of communicating with God constantly to get closer to him in praying.
“How you communicate with God, what manner you use does not matter, as long as you are keeping in touch with him constantly.
“This Passover period is a time of praying and cleansing in preparation to receive God’s blessings,” Rev Dama said.
He told the congregation that Christ had risen by defeating sin, the devil and death.
