A NEW house for the pastors and ministers of the United church west Port Moresby circuit was opened at the church’s mission grounds at Metorea in Hanuabada village.
The house contains a living area on the top floor, downstairs will serve as a meeting hall and offices for ministers, women’s fellowship and youth and children’s ministry.
The new building will complement the old circuit residence.
The project was part of the circuit to extend the ministry under the theme “breaking new grounds”.
The church’s urban region Bishop Rev Jacob Harry opened and dedicated the new circuit house on the weekend, witnessed by the ministers of the congregations, church staff, families and friends.
Supt minister Rev Oika Gabutu said in the midst of circumstances and difficulties, God’s unfailing love was still prevalent.
He said God knew and rewarded the desires of those who truly served him.
“Despite the Covid-19 situation, God opened doors for blessings through donations, contributions and in kindness for this ministry,” Rev Gabutu said.
“It seemed impossible given the circumstances that we’ve been through, but as God’s word says in Psalms: “They that sow in tears shall reap in joy, and it has now come to pass.”
